Cellist Pieter Wispelwey presents a solo program featuring the cello suites by Bach and Britten. Bach laid the foundation with his six suites, full of clarity and deep expression. Britten was inspired by these to write his own suites, with echoes of Bach in a contemporary, tension-filled language. The program brings past and present together.
