Personal Trainer make idiosyncratic indie rock that can veer off in any direction, while always staying melodic and infectious. Led by Willem Smit, the band are best known for their hyperactive, playful and inventive live shows, where almost anything can happen. Emerging from Amsterdam’s underground scene, Personal Trainer have grown into an international live act, performing at festivals including Lowlands, SXSW, End of the Road and Iceland Airwaves. For their new album Human Assholes , the band opted for a strikingly direct approach. The acoustic guitar served as the starting point, the songs were written together in one room, and the album was recorded with the full band in just six days. Expect the same loose, adventurous energy Personal Trainer are known for live, but built on a new foundation.
