Maarten Heijmans & Xander Vrienten — Wachtend op de dood

About this event

In blazing musical theatre, Maarten Heijmans once again shows his versatility. What would Maarten van Roozendaal have sounded like if he had been born in New Orleans? Or Boudewijn de Groot in Nashville? Heijmans and Vrienten discover a shared love for roots music and the stories told within it. Together with two top musicians, they take you on a musical trip between the Jordaan and the Mississippi. Featuring new songs, familiar tunes, and music by artists including Townes Van Zandt and Randy Newman. A theatre concert with the atmosphere of O Brother, Where Art Thou?, in which four men ultimately do what they love most: playing and singing together. Because what do you do in the waiting room of death? You live.
