About this event

When French duo Alcest debuted with Souvenirs d’un Autre Monde in 2007, nobody in the black metal scene quite knew what they were hearing. The two forged blast beats and dreamy shoegaze guitars into a brand new genre: blackgaze. Frontman Neige deliberately draws his inspiration not from darkness, but from an inner world full of peace and harmony – a contrast that has made Alcest one of the most distinctive voices in heavy music ever since. It spawned an entire army of followers, but nobody balances stillness and crushing power as purely as the genre’s own founders.
