About this event
Fright Years is a four-piece indie rock band from Edinburgh. Their sound combines indie rock, 90s alternative rock and power pop with vulnerable lyrics, big choruses and cinematic soundscapes. What started as acoustic bedroom demos grew into a band with a distinctive sound of their own. Fright Years’ songs often start small, built around piano or acoustic guitar, before developing into immersive walls of guitar and synthesizers influenced by the 80s and 90s. Singer Jules Kelly’s powerful voice effortlessly moves between operatic control and raw emotion. Their sound is reminiscent of Florence + The Machine, Wolf Alice, The Cranberries and CHVRCHES.
