Noord Nederlands Orkest — Openbare repetitie

About this event

Curious about how the rehearsals leading up to the North Netherlands Orchestra’s concerts go? Then come attend an open rehearsal. Listen as the conductor rehearses part of that week’s concert program together with the orchestra. The open rehearsals are free to attend and run from 12:00 to 12:30. Top pianist Dejan Lazić literally has his hands full with Brahms’ Second Piano Concerto. Here, the piano is an orchestra in itself: the entire instrument sings and resonates. Together with the NNO, this produces a monumental sound, yet one that is neither ponderous nor heavy. The piece is full of light and dance-like moments. The same applies to Schumann’s Fourth Symphony, in which you can clearly hear his experience as a song composer: you could attach lyrics to every melody.
