Paradox Jazz Orchestra feat. James Carter

About this event

This autumn, the Paradox Jazz Orchestra, with top saxophonist James Carter, dives into the world of the legendary John Coltrane (1926-1967). It will not be a nostalgic tribute, but a lively, contemporary ode to one of jazz’s greatest innovators, featuring serene ballads and freer, energetic pieces. The Paradox Jazz Orchestra is known for its distinctive direction and powerful big band sound. The band arranges Coltrane’s music specifically for a large jazz orchestra, with plenty of room for improvisation, interaction, and adventure. This creates a sound that is both raw and refined. Joining the ranks during this concert is James Carter, one of the most distinctive contemporary voices on the saxophone. With his enormous range, from velvety soft to explosive, he moves effortlessly between styles and atmospheres. His combination of virtuosity, blues sensibility, and daring makes him the ideal guide through Coltrane’s universe. For jazz lovers and anyone who wants to feel what live music can do.
