With their enchanting mix of electronics, art-pop, afropop, saudade, and alternative Latin, Ão has become one of the most exciting acts in the Belgian music scene. The quartet defies easy genre categorization, merging their diverse backgrounds into a unique hybrid sound. Frontwoman Brenda Corijn draws from her Mozambican-Portuguese roots, singing in Portuguese and English. Their second album Malandra (2026) marked their breakthrough. On April 16, 2027, the Malandra series will be completed with ‘Obra’, Portuguese for ‘work’ or ‘creation’: five new songs that bring the malandra story to a close.
