About this event

Leenalchi is a South Korean group reimagining traditional pansori through experimental, bass-driven soundscapes, rooted in both folklore and the country's indie music scene. Led by composer Jang Young Gyu, an accomplished film composer, the group breaks open the framework of pansori. Their songs translate ancient storytelling into modern sound worlds, featuring rhythmic sounds and mimetic Korean onomatopoeia that evoke movement, emotion, and texture beyond language. Drawing from indie rock, psychedelia, and cinematic composition, they create immersive performances where rhythm, voice, and narrative converge.
